Welcome to Voyce for Paws, a project of Be the Voyce, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 32-0760338) based in Wooster, Ohio, USA. By accessing or using this website, our pre-launch signup, or any future Voyce for Paws platform (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1.Pre-Launch Status

The Voyce for Paws app and platform are currently in pre-launch development. By signing up, you acknowledge that:

• The product is not yet publicly available.
• Features described on this website are planned and may change before release.
• You will receive launch updates via email at the address you provided.
• Early access participation is voluntary and may include providing feedback.

2.Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to provide your email and join our pre-launch list. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these terms on your behalf.

3.Acceptable Use

When using or interacting with the Service, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about yourself and the animals you report.
• Use the platform only for the purpose of helping animals in need.
• Respect the privacy and safety of others — do not post identifying information about people without consent.
• Not misuse the platform to harm, harass, or defraud others.
• Not upload content that is illegal, abusive, or violates the rights of others.

4.User-Submitted Content

If you submit photos, location data, descriptions, or other content through the Service:

• You retain ownership of your content.
• You grant Be the Voyce, Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use that content for the purpose of facilitating rescue, education, and the operation of the Service.
• You confirm you have the right to share what you submit.

5.Animal Rescue — No Guarantees

Voyce for Paws is a connection and coordination platform. It does not perform rescues directly and does not guarantee that any animal posted will be saved, fostered, adopted, or treated. Rescue outcomes depend on the actions of fosters, rescuers, veterinarians, shelters, volunteers, and other independent third parties. By using the Service, you understand and accept this.

6.AI Triage Estimates, Health Assessments & Limitations

6.1 AI-Generated Content. The Voyce for Paws app uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) to analyze photographs of animals and generate a preliminary assessment called an “AI Triage Estimate.” This estimate may include the AI’s assessment of the animal’s breed, approximate age, weight, coat condition, visible injuries or health indicators, and an estimated urgency level. All AI-generated content is clearly labeled as “AI Assessment” and is preliminary in nature.

6.2 Not Veterinary Advice. AI Triage Estimates are NOT veterinary examinations, diagnoses, prescriptions, or treatment plans. They are automated visual assessments that may be incomplete, inaccurate, or incorrect. No veterinarian–client–patient relationship (VCPR) is created or implied by any AI-generated content on the platform. The AI cannot detect internal conditions, pain levels, diseases, parasites, or any condition not visible in a photograph.

6.3 Reporter-Submitted Observations. Users may manually add observations to supplement the AI Triage Estimate (e.g., behavioral observations, circumstances of discovery, visible symptoms the AI may have missed). These notes are labeled “Reporter Observation” and represent the subjective observations of untrained individuals. Be the Voyce, Inc. does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of reporter-submitted information.

6.4 Veterinary Confirmation. Licensed veterinarians and credentialed veterinary technicians on the Voyce network may review, edit, correct, and confirm an AI Triage Estimate. Upon confirmation, the card becomes a “Vet-Confirmed Health Assessment” bearing the confirming professional’s name and credentials. Even Vet-Confirmed Health Assessments are informational summaries based on available data and do not replace a full in-person veterinary examination.

6.5 Source Tagging. All information displayed on cards is tagged with its source: “AI Assessment,” “Reporter Observation,” or “Vet Confirmed.” Users acknowledge that source tags indicate the origin and reliability level of each piece of information and agree to consider these tags when making decisions.

6.6 Assumption of Risk. By using AI Triage Estimates or any information from the Service to make decisions about an animal’s care, transport, foster placement, or medical treatment, you assume full responsibility for those decisions. You agree that Be the Voyce, Inc. is not liable for any harm, injury, death, or adverse outcome to any animal or person resulting from reliance on AI-generated content, reporter observations, or any other information provided through the Service.

6.7 Veterinary Professional Responsibility. Veterinary professionals who review and confirm cards on the platform do so under their own professional license and judgment. Be the Voyce, Inc. does not employ, supervise, or control veterinary professionals on the network and is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of their assessments. Veterinary professionals are solely responsible for ensuring their use of the platform complies with applicable state veterinary practice acts and regulations.

7.Donations and Sponsorships

Donations made to Be the Voyce, Inc. through this site or via linked partners (such as Givebutter) support our nonprofit mission, including the development of Voyce for Paws and ongoing rescue work. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by U.S. law. We will provide a receipt at the time of contribution.

8.Intellectual Property

All Voyce for Paws branding, the “Voyce for Paws” name, the paw logo, the Be the Voyce mark, and all original written and visual content on this site are the property of Be the Voyce, Inc. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute them without written permission.

9.DMCA / Copyright Complaints

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice (a “DMCA Notice”) including:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
• Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail to locate it on the Service.
• Your contact information (address, phone, email).
• A statement made in good faith that use of the material is not authorized.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Send DMCA notices to info@bethevoyce.org with the subject line “DMCA Notice.” If a counter-notification is submitted, we will follow the procedures described in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

10.Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate the Service, including:

• MailerLite — for email subscription and launch communications.
• Givebutter — for donation processing (when applicable).
• Leaflet / OpenStreetMap / CartoCDN — for the coverage map.

Your interactions with these services are also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

11.Export Controls and Sanctions

The Service is operated from the United States and is subject to U.S. export control and economic sanctions laws. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated by the U.S. government as a “terrorist supporting” country.
• You are not on any U.S. government list of restricted parties (such as the Specially Designated Nationals list).
• You will not use the Service in any manner that violates applicable export control or sanctions laws.

12.Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Be the Voyce, Inc. and its volunteers, officers, and directors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of an animal, harm during a rescue attempt, or interactions with third parties met through the platform.

13.Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Be the Voyce, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your access to or use of the Service.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Content you submit through the Service.
• Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Your interactions or transactions with other users, rescuers, fosters, vets, or third parties met through the Service.

14.Safety & Interactions Between Users

Voyce for Paws helps connect people, but we do not screen, verify, vet, employ, or supervise users, reporters, rescuers, fosters, adopters, veterinarians, volunteers, or any third parties. Any communication, in-person meeting, transport, fostering, adoption, handling of an animal, or transaction you enter into is entirely at your own risk. Use good judgment, meet in safe public places where possible, and do not rely on Voyce to confirm anyone’s identity, credentials, or intentions. Be the Voyce, Inc. is not responsible for the conduct of any user or third party, whether online or offline.

15.Reporting Cruelty & Emergencies

Voyce for Paws is not an emergency service and not law enforcement. If an animal is in immediate danger, or you witness cruelty, neglect, or abuse, contact your local animal control, law enforcement, or an emergency veterinarian directly. Submitting a report through the Service does not guarantee any response and is not a substitute for contacting the proper authorities.

16.Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any information provided through it — including AI Triage Estimates and Health Assessments — is accurate, complete, or reliable.

17.Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including a violation of these Terms or conduct we consider harmful to animals, users, or the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will survive.

18.Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. We may communicate material changes by email or through an in-app notice.

19.Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Before bringing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at info@bethevoyce.org and work with us in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there. To the fullest extent permitted by law, disputes will be resolved on an individual basis, and you waive any right to participate in a class or representative action.

20.Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and Be the Voyce, Inc. regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
